Writing in Discipline was a great opportunity for me to improve my writing techniques in
Dr.Kyburz's class. This class was a big challenge for me and it was not a regular writing class. It was
more technical and rhetorical. Before I thought I have to write a summary in a simple way, but it was
different and not as easy as I was thinking. My first assignment was "The Scardeycat" which was short movie clip and I thought it was easy, but my analysis was wrong. First I wrote it as a simple
summary and used my opinions.
However, I was wrong, Dr.Kyburz corrected me about my writing techniques and style. She gave me a chance to rewrite it and address to the audience. I was little confused and lost in the views
of my documentary summary, but actually it was not a summary. Finally, I revised my documentary
project and repolished it. Dr.Kyburz was satisfied about my final draft.
Processes:- Another thing I liked in my class was discussions, that we did about any current events, gossip, or anything we wanted to share. Also I liked when we did quizzes revision in the class and shared our different views. Most interesting thing was to learned about how to write police reports using past tense and first person.
